The final day of Artistic Skating competition at the 2024 World Skate Games brought the stories! Fiera de Rimini was packed with nearly 4600 enthusiastic skating fans to witness the charismatic events. It was the exclamation point to a incredible two weeks of competition.
Precision, Quartets and Show Groups rely on teamwork and strategy to create the magic on the floor. Complex formations, fast moving elements with costumes and storylines make up these events that could easily thrill Broadway audiences. Group technique was on display as theater was brought to life through the amazing choreography. Two of the fierce competitions came down to mere tenths of a point. All the events kept the audience on the edges of their seats.

The 68th World Championships is now history. More than 40 countries gathered in picturesque Rimini to strive for the best. Medals were won, defeat was seen, personal bests achieved, Ranking points were earned and millions of memories created. Above all nearly 1000 skaters were together with their hearts beating for the love of the sport and proudly representing their country flags.
Rimini 2024 has written a new story for Artistic Skating. Each skater brought their own chapter with the drive, discipline and love they give to the sport. The Organizing Committee for Rimini did an outstanding job of honoring the colorful past while linking it to present day superstars and perhaps inspiring the next generation of skaters.
Many touching moments happened throughout these two weeks at the World Skate Games. Perhaps one of the most emotional moments from the coaching side was witnessing the famed Italian coach Sara Locandro overcome with joy after Alessandro Liberatore won the Senior Mens title. For it was in 1985 right here in Rimini that Chiara Sartori became Locandro’s first World Champion. It was a full circle moment and luminous display of why Artistic Skating is the best sport in the World.
Thank you to the fans, the coaches, the officials, the families that give so much support but most of all thank you to the skaters. As this season comes to a close, the work and passion of the athletes already has us eagerly anticipating the next season.
See you in China 2025!
