The first day of the Inline Freestyle World Championship has just ended on the terrace of the Pincio, the
setting that until two days ago was that of the skate cross Worlds.
The sunny day and spectacular competitions attracted a large and warm crowd that watched and cheered all day long the skaters who took turns on the track to compete in three specialities: Slide, Free jump and Classic Freestyle Slalom.
In the women’s Slide category, the spanish Rosa Maria Vela Farfan won the gold medal, followed by
Ukrainian athlete Sofia Kytaihora. The bronze medal has been won from Immaculada Garcia Moreno,
world champion in this speciality in 2023. In the men’s category, Spain also won thanks to Jose Julian
Garcia Diaz, followed by teammate Enrique Rubio Mesas, gold at Shanghai 2023. Chinese athlete Ou Jiang Ping rounded out the podium.
The spectacular free jump competitions enchanted the audience, leaving everyone with bated breath. In
the women’s category, Francesca Brivio, reigning world champion, gave way to Alena Efimova, who won
the gold medal with a jump of 132 centimetres. The Italian athlete placed second on the podium, while
the bronze medal has been won by Awa Blade from Senegal. The top two positions in the men’s category
remained unchanged from last year: Dame Fall remains undefeated and confirmed his world medal with
a jump of 171 centimetres, followed by the italian Gianmarco Savi. New in the speciality is Jean Pierre
Ngor Sarr who is ranked third, also from Senegal.
SLIDE WOMEN
In the pairs, the unbeatable Chinese athletes predominate. While last year’s bronze medal was won by a
Japanese pair, this year’s third place on the podium also went to a Chinese pair. A combination of elegance and technique bordering on perfection enabled the Asian pairs to dominate at world level.
