World Skate Games Day 3 – Downhill Inline & Street Luge

After two days of practice, it was time for the Downhill Inliners and Street Lugers to complete their official time trials. The energy was explosive as the athletes went methodically through their rounds, cutting off as much time as possible with each recurring round. In the end, it was Renato Pennuti from Italy that won out for the men’s Downhill Inliners, with a scorching time of 1:13.52. Adrian Gumanita and Carlos Quiroga Nino followed close behind. For the women, Romane Favia led with an impressive 1.81 second gap, leaving Vargas and Torres in a distant second and third place. In the women’s Street Luge category, 18 year old Rose Hill was the quickest, finishing in 1:18.02 with Pastor Loreline and Charlotte Farges hot on her heels. Hill is one of the youngest competitors in the field, and is already making waves in the sport. For the men, Mikel Echegary went first with a time of 1:14.21. Ryan Farmer finished astoundingly close, missing pole position by just 0.05 seconds. Abdil Ahmad Mahdzan rounded out third just another 0.37 seconds behind.
